The LoewenThor ist definitely an uncomparable location in the middle of nowhere:
Since the year 1701 this former stage-coach-station is not only a restaurant to eat and drink there – it is an overwhelming historical place you have to see! You can feel the breath of history when you enjoy the fabulous dishes and delicious wines from the deep old cellar. Take place at the open fire inside or the inner courtyard of the more than 300 years old restaurant. And be aware of one more uniqueness of the LoewenThor: They have several kinds of exclusive beers there, brewed and bottled in Belgium and offered in several sizes and also packed in wooden cases as ideal gifts or souvenirs.
And there is another most important reason to visit the LoewenThor: It is located at the very first automobile road of the world, known as the BERTHA BENZ MEMORIAL ROUTE:
In 1886, Dr Carl Benz invented the automobile in Mannheim - but nobody wanted to buy it. But when Bertha Benz, his wife, went on a long-distance trip with her 13- and 15-year-old sons in 1888 from Mannheim to Pforzheim and back - without her husband's knowledge - to prove that the horseless coach was absolutely suitable for daily use, it became a huge success with almost a billion drivers worldwide today!
So do not just take the freeway to get there but enjoy the breath of automobile history along this outstanding memorial route which stands for inventive genius, for teamwork and at least for the first woman driving a car worldwide!
