The Swabian Alb is also famous for its Jurasic caves - but did you know where you can find Germany’s only watercave, that can be explored by boat?

The „Wimsener Höhle“ (cave of Wimsen), also known as „Friedrichshoehle" is located near Hayingen and north of Zwiefalten.

The restaurant next door offers a variety of Swabian dishes – specialities made with organic food and local ingredients from agricultural producers nearby. The cozy historic restaurant was built in the 11th century as part of the monastery of Zwiefalten. With is generous outdoor area directly at a lagoon with trouts it is the right place to rest after a walking-tour through the „Glastal“ (Glass Valley) or anywhere else in the famous „Lautertal“. Put your feet into the cool fresh water while waiting for your lunch or dinner or even for a cup of coffee with homemade cakes.

The historic mill next door can be booked for events or private festivities up to 120 persons (Information and booking: Mr. Daniel Tress, phone : 07373 915260). Frequently, there are also cultural events there like concerts or stage performances, for more information click
