This traditional Swabian country-guesthouse is located in one of the most beautiful areas of the Swabian Alb and only 11 km south of the Autobahn A 8 Stuttgart – Munich, just about 40 minutes from the city of Stuttgart. However the weather is downriver of the Alb, up here in an altitude of 770 m you are mostly in the sun and above any fog. The raised bog of Schopfloch is one of the species-rich European highmoors and therefore protected by the UNESCO.

The former „Otto-Hofmeister-Haus“ ist now called ALBENGEL (Albangel) and offers a broad variety of international and Swabian specialities made with regional ingredients. The cozy furnished restaurant has several side rooms for your private festivities and also a big and calm beergarden in the shade of old trees. And if you decided to have a little bit more beer or wine – there are also a few lovely furnished rooms for your overnight stay.
